And with those high-quality climate chambers for seed technology research, the R&D centre is now equipped for the future.
Bayer CropScience Vegetable Seeds in Nunhem (municipality of Leudal) in the Dutch province of Limburg is one of the world’s largest suppliers of vegetable seeds. The company is a subsidiary of Bayer CropScience.
The range of seeds is huge: 28 crops and around 2,500 species. This market is developing very quickly, and in order to continue innovating, Bayer CropScience Vegetable Seeds decided to build a new R&D centre.
Based on a business relationship lasting many years, ENGIE was asked to realise fourteen climate chambers. In close cooperation with Bayer CropScience Vegetable Seeds, ENGIE Refrigeration developed climate chambers based on the latest technologies. That led to joint expertise to get the maximum yield from the professional processing of seeds. The process uses the latest technology to achieve a uniform distribution of light, humidity and temperature. ENGIE used the very latest technologies in the fourteen climate chambers (such as remote operation) to ensure that the conditions are always constant but can also be defined, reproduced and repeated accurately.
